Organizer

Always Aim High EventsWe are now in our 10th year of Always Aim High Events. It started out as a hobby, two friends with years of experience in sport and its organisation, and an idea pitched to us from others in our community. We started in 2011 with the Slateman and Sandman triathlons, one in my home village of Llanberis and the other in Kenny’s home village of Newborough. For years I’d been travelling to amazing events with the Saab Salomon team, and there was nothing like what I witnessed, here in the UK. People kept asking us to ‘put on something different’ and so, inspired by what we had seen around the world we decided we’d do it. Take the risk and give it a go. Our principles were clear from the start and they became our guide in the design of our events. They would be customer led, supporting local business by ‘buying local’ and showcasing the beautiful locations of North Wales. Ultimately our events would support local communities through boosting the economy and making our own direct community investments. To date we have donated over £250,000 to countless local charities and groups as a direct result of our events in their local areas. We set out with those principles, and we continue to operate in exactly the same way. In the last 10 years we have delivered literally hundreds of brand new events for the enjoyment of hundreds of thousands of participants. We’ve learned so much along the way, taken risks, invested into new ideas, new concepts, new races, and created jobs - building a small, close-knit team who are as passionate and committed as we are. Throughout this we have never strayed from our core principles; listening to the community, making decisions based on customer requests and giving things a go! On the reputation of our events we have grown, but based on the desires of the communities in which we operate and our athletes we have stuck with organising relatively small, unique and beautiful races. Who knows what the future will hold? We are sure there will be bumps in the road (though hopefully not another as large as a global pandemic) but together, with our team and the Always Aim High Community it looks exciting and different and of course, beautiful. See you on the startline. Tim & Kenny
