The Terra de Gigantes is an ultramarathon with a maximum completion time of 74 hours with 303km, and 11,220 ascent. The course must be covered on a self-sufficient basis between the living bases stipulated by the organization and guided solely by GPS.

The linear route departs from the highest point in Portugal and arrives in Nazaré. Transport is guaranteed between the meeting point and the Tower on Serra da Estrela.

It is a very difficult course, which can be extreme if the weather conditions are adverse. Very low temperatures, strong winds at the highest points, and permanent rain can put the challenge to an extreme level.
