The Ultra-Trail Australia will return in just a few weeks, boasting a decorated list of athletes participating across four distances. Taking place from May 16th to 19th, the race will return to the Blue Mountains, a World Heritage site in New South Wales.

The Ultra-Trail Australia, a prestigious event returning for its 16th year, has sold out with around 7,500 athletes expected to take on one of the four distances. This makes it not just the largest trail running event in the southern hemisphere, but also the second largest globally, a testament to its grandeur and appeal.

The UTA 50 also expects excellent competition in the elite field. Kate Avery (GBR) and Juliette Soule (NZL) will likely battle it out for the women’s title. The men’s race looks set to be fiercely contested, with Clément Durance (FRA), Scotty Hawker (NZL), Tiago Vieria (PRT), Charlie Hamilton (AUS), and Gabriele Fior (ITA) all capable of winning.

From the traditional Welcome to Country at start lines to the famous Furber Steps before the finish, the event promises a spectacular and spiritual experience as runners follow in the footsteps of the Gundungurra ancestors via vast cliff tops, cascading waterfalls, and a chorus of wildlife.
