Ray Zahab: The Beauty of Running

‘As human beings, we underestimate ourselves”

Ray Zahab is a Canadian ultrarunner and public speaker who has conquered many expeditions all around the globe.

From running across the Sahara Desert in 2007 to completing unsupported expeditions in the Arctic, he has lived a fascinating life that many would dream of within the sport.

As well as this, he founded the Impossible2possible expedition programme which aims to educate and inspire students through the use of adventures at zero cost.

Until 2000, Zahab admitted to leading an unhealthy lifestyle, including smoking up to a pack of cigarettes daily. However, he eventually got into mountain bike racing and adventure riding before he started running in his mid-30s.

The first race that he competed in after taking up running was the 100-mile Montane Yukon Arctic Ultra and not only did he finish the race, he won it.
